 The peripheral ossifying fibroma(POF) is a relatively common gingival growth that is considered to be reactive rather than neoplastic.The pathogenesis of this lesion is uncertain. The POF occurs exclusively on the gingiva, present as a nodular mass, either pedunculated or sessile. It is a predominately a lesion of teen agers and young adults almost 2/3 rd cases occurs in females and slight predilection for maxillary arch incisor – cuspid region. Here we present a case of Giant peripheral ossifying fibroma (GPOF) arising from posterior maxillary alveolus with clinical findings, imaging , histopathology ,treatment and follow up with review of literature.

 The garlic also known as Allium sativum. Garlic and onions are originally native to central Asia and are among the oldest cultivated plants in the world Garlic has attracted particular attention of modern medicine because of widespread belief about its effects in maintaining good health. It is part of a monocot genus of flowering plants frequently referred to onion genus. The genus includes approximately 500 species [4] including edible onions (A. cepa), garlics (A. sativum), shallots (A. ascalonicum), chives (A. schoenoprasum), and leeks (A. porrum). Chemically garlic contains many active therapeutic components which are widely studies.Garlic has anticariogenic, anti­oxident, antibacterial, antifungal properties and many more. This review presents the scope and therapeutic application of garlic in oral diseases and dentistry.

 Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of the oral premalignant lesions/conditions and oral mucosal pathologies in north Indian population. Material and Methods: 1000 patients were clinically evaluated from age group <25 years to > 65 years, of these 392 have smokeless and 306 have smoking habit however remaining 302 have no history of any habit. The statistical analysis was done using the SPSS software version 16.0. Results: Oral submucous fibrosis (23.2%) is found to be most common oral lesion however pseudomembranous candidiasis(0.3%) was least commonly reported oral lesion in this specific study population. Conclusion: Timely diagnosis and early prevention will help to reduce tobacco related oral diseases. However other soft tissue pathologies which have definite etiological causes can be prevented early or treated by timely intervention.

 Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the prevalence of oral mucosal lesions among the patients who visited the outpatient department of Faculty of Dental Sciences, Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi. Material and Methods: A total number of 3293 subjects were clinically examined for oral mucosal lesions over a period of 5 months from November 2015 to March 2016 in which 3251 were selected for the study after screening. Results: The result showed the presence of oral mucosal lesions in 31.25% of the study subjects and leukoplakia(29.72%) was the most frequently seen lesion. In our study tobacco­related lesions leukoplakia, smoker’s palate,oral submucous fibrosis etc. were more prevalent in males where as in the females oral lichen planus, traumatic ulcer, recurrent apthous ulcers were more commonly seen.

 Background: Odontogenic facial space infections are very common in Sudan with different clinical presentation. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment is necessary to prevent life threaten complications. The aim of this study is to describe the pattern of admitted odontogenic fascial space infections among Sudanese population. Methodology: A cross sectional descriptive hospital based study was performed. A medical chart review was filled retrospectively identifying patient with odontogenic fascial space infection admitted to the Khartoum dental teaching hospital in the oral maxillofacial surgery clinic from 2013 to 2016. Results: Seventy five patients 56% male and 44% female diagnosed with odontogenic fascial space infections were recruited in the study. The most common affected age group was 21­30 years old with percent (30.7%), and the least common age groups are 1­10 years and 61­70 years. The most common affected tooth is the 3rd. molar tooth (36%). The most common cause of infection was Pulpits (44%). Mandible was the most common site (85.3%). Ludwig’s Angina was the most recorded (48%). The most common clinical sign of admission is swelling of the face (46.4%). Most of the interventional treatments modalities used in treatment were incision and drainage (86.6%). Metronidazole is the most described antibiotic (48.32%). (56 %) were not totally recovered, (40%) fully recovered, no deaths recorded in this study. Conclusion: Male was affected more by odontogenic fascial space infection than female, predominant age in the third decade; mandibular 3rd molars are the most causative tooth, majority of cases where found to be Ludwig’s angina patients.
