Adenomatoid Odontogenic Tumor (AOT) is an uncommon, hamartomatous, benign, epithelial lesion of Odontogenic origin that was first described by Dreibaldt in 1970, as a pseudo adenoameloblastoma. The present World Health Organization (WHO) classification describes AOT as being composed of the Odontogenic epithelium in a variety of histoarchitectural patterns, embedded in a mature connective tissue stroma, and characterized by slow but progressive growth. It occurs in both intraosseous and peripheral forms. Generally recurrence is very rare. The present case reports a 32 yr old male patient who presented with a chief complaint of swelling in the lower anterior region. On examination permanent lower right and left canine were missing with over retained lower right lateral incisor. Radiograph revealed a well defined unilocular radiolucent area in association with the lower anterior teeth. The lesion was excised along with the lower associated teeth and histopathological reports suggested AOT with the Dentigerous Cystic lining.

Gingival recession is the exposure of root surfaces due to apical migration of the gingival tissue margins. The principal objectives of treating a gingival recession are to achieve better esthetics and reduce hypersensitivity. The gingival biotype is an important modifying factor in the treatment of gingival recession. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the significance of changing the soft tissue biotype to a more favorable one while attempting root coverage, to achieve more stable and long lasting results using subepithelial connective tissue graft.

Dental implants of smaller diameter have been used for almost 20 years, but recently, dental manufacturers have presented mini dental implants (MDIs) with diameter of only 1.8-2.4 mm. These implants allow very suitable prosthetic solutions within the range of their indication, due to good osseointegration success rates, simple surgical technique and immediate loading possibility. The case presents implantation of four mini implants Sendax type (IMTEC) in mental region, in order to obtain better retention and stability of the complete denture, and to improve function and phonation. The use of those implants, among afore mentioned preferences, is also very cost effective, so this implantological possibility should be taken into consideration during prosthetic treatment planning of the edentulous mandible.

Gardners Syndrome, a common variant of familial adenomatosis polyposis affects one in approximately 8000 births. This syndrome is identified due to a distinctive triad of familial intestinal polyposis, surface tumours of hard tissue particularly osteomas in the skull and surface tumours of the soft tissue. The intestinal polyps have a 100% risk of undergoing malignant transformation. Hence, early detection of the disease is critical. This article discusses the surgical management of an unesthetic orbital osteoma in a particularly undiagnosed case of Gardners Syndrome.

Macrodontia of a single tooth is a rare event. This has been reported on very few occasions in scientific journals when affecting a mandibular premolar. Once pulpally involved, because of its unusual coronal and radicular anatomy, the management of such teeth can become a challenging task for the operator. The endodontic management of such a premolar has never been reported in literature so far and there is no published protocol on the management of such a tooth. The use of cone beam computed tomography scan in this rare case significantly contributed towards detailed analysis of the root canal anatomy and its successful endodontic management thereafter. This report extends the range of known possible anatomical variations associated with premolars which may pose a challenge for its endodontic management. This report also highlights the role of cone beam computed tomography as an objective method to confirm the three-dimensional anatomy of teeth.

Throughout the history of mankind there has been the belief that diseases which  ffect the oral cavity, such as periodontal disease can have an effect on the course and pathogenesis of a number of systemic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, bacterial pneumonia, diabetes mellitus and low birth weight. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the current status of oral infections, especially periodontitis as a casual factor systemic disease.

Health care has changed dramatically by the marriage of computers and telecommunications. Implications for hospitals and physicians already have received extensive media attention, but comparatively little has been said about the impact of information technology on dentistry. Teledentistry is a newly emerging area of dentistry that uses dental health records, telecommunication technology, digital imaging and the internet to link dental health care providers in rural or remote communications with specialists in larger communities to enhance communication, the exchange of health related information and access to dental care for underserved patients. This would increase accessibility of specialists, besides decreasing time and cost associated with specialty consultations.
