In this study cases in the age group of 18-40 years were selected from the Out Patient Department of D.A.V. (C) Dental College & Hospital, Yamuna Nagar. Traditionally autografts have been used as the first choice, as they do not provoke immune reaction that may cause rejection. Potential problem associated with alternative bony substitutes such as; donor site complication and transmission of various infectious agents are eliminated. The present study was an attempt to evaluate clinically and radiographically the efficacy of regenerative potential of natural hydroxyapatite.

Although Odontogenic keratocytes are common in clinical practice, the simultaneous occurence of multiple cytes in a patient is rare. We report a case of an otherwise healthy individual who developed multiple odontogenic keratocyst.

Background The purpose of this study is to observe the diagnostic potential of chromogenic substrate (Benzoyl (DL) Arginine p-nitranilide, BAPNA) for detection of bacterial enzymatic activity in gingival crevicular fluid and saliva of health and disease associated periodontal sites. Methods, Forty patients underwent a clinical periodontal examination and were then classified into 4 groups depending on periodontal index score. The GCF and Saliva samples from each group were the quantitatively evaluated for aminopeptidase activity by using Benzoyl (DL) Arginine p-nitranilide (BAPNA) as substrate., Results, The mean of aminopeptidase level of GCF shows an increase from group I to group IV( These values run in parallel with the values of clinical index i.e., more severe the inflammation, higher the index score, and higher is the aminopeptidase level (with the mean of 0.00032 in group I to 0.06883 in group IV). ,In case of the mean values of aminopeptidase levels of saliva showed an increase from group I to group II and a decrease in group III and group IV., Conclusion, As the severity of disease increases, there is a significant increase in aminopeptidase levels suggesting that there is a direct relationship between aminopeptidase levels in gingival crevicular fluid and periodontitis.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of clinically and radiographically recognized C-shaped canal systems in mandibular second molars treated in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at the Government Dental College and Research Institute, Bangalore during 2008-2009 in a sample representing a Bangalore population., Methods: 100 patients were selected randomly requiring root canal treatment of mandibular second molar over a 1-year period. The incidence of C-shaped canals was revealed following radiographic and clinical examination. Two pre-operative radiographs were taken using the shift cone technique and clinical investigation was conducted by scrutinizing the pulp chamber and canal entrance following access., Results: C-shaped canalsoccurred more frequently below 40 years; females had a greater (5.7%) predilection than males 1.9%); single rooted teeth (4%) more than two rooted teeth (1%). A total of 5 Cshaped canals were recognized clinically and 12 by radiographic method. Out of the 12, only 3 canals were confirmed clinically. The proportion of C-shaped teeth detected by radiographic method was significantly lower than the proportion of clinically diagnosed cases., Conclusion: 5% exhibited a C-shaped canal configuration and clinical method was more efficient in diagnosis of this canal variation than the radiographic method.

One of the current guiding principle of dentistry is to provide early infant care during the first year of life as a way of maintaining oral health. This is an unsual case report illustrating an intra oral mass on the gum pad of a 20 day old baby , which clinically mimicked neonatal tooth but was diagnosed to be an inflammatory abscess which could have led to septicemia .Clinical diagnosis of these conditions are important in order to provide necessary therapeutic procedure and suitable information to parents about the nature of the lesion and proper infant oral health care.
