Health & disease are the two faces of a coin. The concept is to aid human beings to provide healthy life and to prevent diseases. Lifestyle diseases are on the rise due to innumerable factors. Pedal edema is one of the common problems in middle and old-age persons. According to sign and symptoms of edema it can be correlated to Shoph or Shoth according to equivalent symptoms mentioned in the relevant literature. Pedal edema is a common clinical condition which can be found in any age group or socio-economic class in society but it is commonly seen in females of old women. Ayurvedic management measures appear to be more satisfactory and promising due to their holistic and totalistic approach. Punarnava is a well-known shoth-har drug that is commonly used in clinical practice. But Punarnva has not been mentioned in soth-har gana. Soth-har gana includes Dashmool Dravya. So in this study, the effect of Shoth-har Mahakashya and Punarnvastak Kwath has been assessed in managing Pada Shotha in old age patients. A total of 10 patients of Pada Shoth were randomly selected from Kayachikitsa OPD at SAMC & H, Aligarh, divided into two groups for the study. The study duration was 2 weeks and it was found that Punarnvastak Kwath gave better results in the first week but Shoth-har Mahakashaya was better for long-term use in relieving the symptoms.

Male infertility, a complex condition affecting a significant proportion of couples worldwide, often involves genetic factors such as Y chromosome microdeletion, mutations in Azoospermia factor (AZF) genes, SRY gene, and Androgen receptor (AR) gene. These genetic abnormalities can lead to impaired spermatogenesis and resultant azoospermia or oligospermia. Understanding these genetic factors is crucial for diagnosis and management of male infertility. Yoga-based alternative therapies have gained attention for their potential in improving overall health and well-being, including reproductive health. Studies have suggested that yoga practices, encompassing physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation, can reduce stress, enhance hormonal balance, improve blood circulation, and modulate immune function. These benefits may contribute to ameliorating underlying causes of male infertility associated with genetic mutations. This review explores the role of Y chromosome microdeletion, AZF gene mutation, SRY gene mutation, and AR gene mutation in male infertility and reviews the potential of yoga-based alternative therapies in mitigating these genetic factors. Further research and clinical trials are warranted to validate the efficacy of yoga as a complementary approach to conventional treatments for male infertility.

Yoga has been popular worldwide, yet several people have fuzzy idea about. The present article attempts to investigate and delineate real nature of Yoga based on holistic approach–etymological meanings, definition in Indian thoughts, meaning of Yoga as told by the Yoga scholars, etc. Initially it deals with etymological meaning of Yoga and related with several Yoga have been defined in three sources of Yoga, i.e. Samkhya-Yoga philosophy, Vedanta Philosophy and the Tantric Philosophy. Simultaneously, it also attempts to make understanding of Yoga simple and convenient by depicting Yoga as an End or Ultimate State or Mean or Tool, Process, subject of art and science etc.

Introduction: Maharshi Sushruta is known for his pioneering operations, techniques and for his influential treatise 'Sushruta Samhita'. Sushruta Samhita is the main source of knowledge for uplifting surgical branch. Maharshi Sushruta contributed Shashti Upkrama for management of Vrana. Besides trauma involving general surgery, Sushruta gave an in-depth account of the treatment of 12 varieties of fracture and six types of dislocation. This continues to amaze todays orthopedicians. Case Report: A 65 yrs old male patient having H/O – Traumatic injury to rt foot on 28 Oct due to slippage in drainage system, he was diagnosed with Displaced toe fracture (Distal phalanx) with avulsion of rt toe nail. Conclusion: With the help of Maharshi Sushruta’s principle this case study aims to report the successful management of Asthibhagna with fruitful result.

Tinea corporis is a superficial dermatophyte infection of the skin. Tinea corporis is most often caused by species of Trichophyton rubrum, T. tonsurans and Microsporum canis. Tinea corporis typically presents as a well-demarcated, sharply circumscribed, oval or circular, mildly erythematous, scaly patch or plaque with a raised leading edge. In Ayurveda, Tinea corporis can be co related with Dadru as per the symptoms of the disease. To evaluate the efficacy of an Ayurvedic treatment regimen for tinea corporis and assess its impact on symptom relief and lesion resolution. A 52-year-old male patient presented with itching, burning sensation, and a scaly ring-shaped patch on the left abdominal wall. The patient was treated with an Ayurvedic protocol comprising oral medicines and local application. The patient reported a significant reduction in itching, with the skin patch nearly disappearing. At the end of treatment, itching had ceased, and the skin patch was completely resolved. The treatment demonstrated effective resolution of symptoms and lesion clearance.
