Horseshoe fistula-in-ano is a challenging problem for the proctologist due to the sepsis of the posterior anal
space. There isa high chance of reoccurrencealong with potential incontinencefollowing surgery. To address such
a grievous outcome after surgery,Ksharasutra threading was found to be beneficial in such a case. Ksharasutranot
only helped in draining the fistulous tract but, it also maintainedthe integrity of the sphincter by simultaneously
cutting and promoting fibrosis thereby resulting in maintenance of continence and was effective in draining the
post anal sepsis resulting in no reoccurrence of the disease.

Role of Ayush system of medicines in the prevention and control of Covid -19 is discussed at several platforms.
Ministry of AYUSH has published advisory / guidelines on how Ayurveda and Yoga can be of help in Covid -19.
There are lot of discussion on ‘Ayush Kadha’ or ‘Rasayana Kalpa’ Immunomodulator formulations or drugs like
Chyavanaprash or Guduchi, Ashwagandha , Haridra or Yashtimadhu in the management of Covid-19. Similar way
there is an increasing awareness and interest about Yogic practices, its role in increasing immunity , about ‘Jalaneti’
and ‘Pranayama’ in prevention of Covid-19. In this paper author is trying cover some of these aspects with possible
evidences as observed in the relevant research publications. Also deals with myths and facts about the role of
Ayurveda in Yoga in the prevention and management of Covid -19

Deshiya Chikitsa or Sri Lankan Indigenous Medicine (SLIM) is a purely native kind of medicine that has been
practicing from time unmemorable in Sri Lanka. The objective of this study was to investigate the factors affecting
deterioration of Sri Lankan Indigenous Medicine. Ninety registered physicians were selected from the population
using purposive sampling method. Qualitative data collection methods were used for collecting data and data were
analyzed by Correlation Analysis under Chi Square test using SPSS statistical software. The study was conducted
in the Moneragala district which has rich diversity of SLIM. Influence of colonial rule, attraction of allopathic
medicine, declining social acceptance, lack of government patronage, not getting sufficient income, and negative
public attitude have affected the deterioration of SLIM. In statistical analysis, alternative hypotheses of above
factors were accepted in highly significant manner (p<0.001). Based on the above results, the recommendations
made in this study provide road map to researchers for planning their strategies in conservation, and sustainable
use of Indigenous Medicine of Sri Lanka.

Yoga is known to be one of the ‘DarśanaśaÌ„tra’ or ‘School of Indian philosophy’ having known for its several
benefits. It is also considered to be an ‘Ancient Indian Psychology’. Everyone knows that Yoga has come from root
‘Yuj’ means to join. But in this paper author has discussed about three different perspectives about etymological
meaning of ‘Yuj’ and ‘Yoga’. It will be necessary for a student of yoga, to understand about various definition of
Yoga in its different perspectives. Author gives different definitions of yoga and has mentioned about various
types and forms of yoga those are present till date. It explains about the understanding of yoga , not only restricted
to ‘SaÌ„mkhya Yoga’ – ‘PaÌ„tañjala – AstaÌ„nga Yoga’ or ‘Hathayoga’ but also about Yoga traditions in Buddhism and
Jainism as well. Author emphasizes the importance of knowing about the authentic forms of yoga and caution
about distorted forms of yoga prevalent in the global scenarios. There is a discussion about authentic training
institution of yoga , one need to know in India.
