 In Ayurveda, the concept of srotas has been mentioned very specifically. It has given importance both in health and disease. It is defined as the channel or structure through which sravanam karma i.e. flowing, moving, oozing and permeation of different constituents & nutrients of the body takes place. These are also called as srotoamsi. There are thirteen abhyantra srotamsi, each of which relates to specific organs, and there are 9 bahya srotoamsi in males and 11 in females. Each srotas has it moola sthana. Vitiation of moola sthana can also leads to vitiation of respective srotas. The factors which cause vitiation of srotas are called as sroto dusthi karanas and the lakshanas which manifest are called as sroto dusthi lakshanas. There are four important sroto dusthi lakshanas i.e. sanga, vimargagamana, atipravrutti, and siragranthi. Among thirteen abhyantara srotamsi pranavaha srotas is one among them. It is a vital input capability structure maintaining the life.

 Hectic and unhealthy life style has been a prime factor for various life style disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, atherosclerosis, metabolic syndromes, obesity, sleep disorders etc. Sleep disorders are serious enough to interfere with normal physical, mental, social and emotional functioning [1]. Sleep disorders include hyposomnia, hypersomnia and insomnia. Insomia is the most common problem of present generation. Stress is the one of commonest causes attributed to insomnia [3]. Nidra is one of the Upastambhas described in ancient classics [2]. Ayurveda, with its holistic approach can help in this condition with its unique way of life style management and drug therapy. Whithania somnifera (L.) Dunal (family Solanaceae), commonly known as Ashwagandha (Indian ginseng), has been used to treat a number of medical condition in Ayurveda [4]. In Bangsen, Ashwagandha has been indicated for the treatment of insomnia [5]. This herb is considered as an adaptogen. Ashwagandha effectively alleviates insomnia but does not act as sedative. It’s rejuvenative and nervine tonic properties produce energy which in turn helps the body to settle and sleep [6]. It reduces significantly the cortisol level which is an indicator for stress and anxiety. Thus Ashwagandha can prove wonderful for the treatment of sleep disorders specifically insomnia.

As we are living in the 21st century there is a dramatic change in the life style, habits and environment of living being. In ancient days we led a happy and healthy life, but as the life style and environment changed. Pratishyaya vyadhi (Rhinitis) is one of the commonest diseases found due to this change. According to Ayurveda “Pratikshanam shyayate iti Pratishyayah” it means continuous outward motion of doshas. If any type of Pratishyaya (Rhinitis) is neglected and not properly remedied at the outset of an attack, it may bring on cases of malignant Pinasa, which in time gives rise to a number of diseases and produces in its train deafness, blindness, anosmia, violent ocular affections, cough, dullness of appetite and Shopha (swelling). Treatment of all the Pratishyayas (Rhinitis) are classified in two types- Aama Pratishyaya and Pakwa Pratishyaya (Rhinitis). Anorexia, distaste, thin nasal secretion, pain, dizziness, feeling of heaviness in head with sneezing and pyrexia are common symptoms of Aama Pratishyaya (Rhinitis). Feeling of lightness in head, nose and mouth region, yellowish thick and mucoid nasal discharge with down grade symptoms of Aama Pratishyaya (Rhinitis) are common symptoms of Pakwa Pratishyaya (Rhinitis).  Aama Pratishyaya (Rhinitis) should be converted into Pakwa Pratishyaya by Swedana, Ushna bhojana with amla rasa, Ksheera ardrka and jaggeries should be advised. In Pakwa Pratishyaya (Rhinitis) Ghrita pana, Swedana, Vamana, Awapida, Shirovirechana, Virechana, Aasthapana, Dhoomapana, Kawalagraha should be advised

 Concept of prevention is a unique contribution of Ayurveda. The regimens, which should be followed daily, are called as Dinacharya. Such practices are beneficial to those, who live in this world and also living beings in other world. Daily regimen is explained with their four fold benefits like health promotive, preventive, curative and restorative. These specific measures which are mentioned in Dinacharya will strengthen the pratyangas. The overall benefit is to strengthen the body at anatomical, physiological and psychosocial aspects. To achieve Purushartha one should require healthy & disease free life. But today due to the busy schedule, Stress, Lack of concentration towards self, Pollution and the adoption of modern techniques the people are not doing practice of these daily regimens. Lack of awareness regarding these procedures is also a reason and hence it is become reasons for increased morbid health status in the community. Today it is the need of the hour to educate and motivate the community regarding this and to reduce the morbid status of the community. This article enlightening about the Practice of Kavala and Gandusha, Dantadavana and Jiwhanirlekhana its methods, benefits.

Background: Tonsillectomy is an operative measure in which the tonsils are removed completely. It is commonly performed surgery in Pediatric age group and less frequently in adults. There are certain absolute and relative indications for tonsillectomy. The outcome of the surgery is said to be doubtful in preventing recurrent throat pain. Aim: The aim of this article is to prevent and to reduce the risk of surgical intervention for Tonsils through advancement in Ayurveda conservative line of management. Materials and Methods: The Anatomical, Patho-Physiological and treatment modalities aspects of Tonsils and Tonsillitis reviewed. The classical description of Tonsils and its treatment modalities with recent advancement reviewed. Settings and Designs: Illustrated scientific analysis of benefits and loses between conventional practice of tonsillectomy and recent advancement in Ayurveda with conservative treatment. Results: Appropriate decision of tonsillectomy should be taken after complete evaluation / Ayurveda conservative treatment in order to preserve tonsils in situ.

 Amlapitta is a very common disease which can be correlated with Acid peptic disorder (APD) in modern parlance. In Ayurveda the main cause of Amlapitta is due to Agnimandya (Indigestion), different dietetic habits like Adhyashan (Intake of food before digestion), Vishmashana (Irregular food intake) and spiced oily food etc. and the psychic factors like Chinta (anxiety) Udveg (Stress), Krodha (Anger) etc. In modern the causative factors are mainly hurry, worry and curry adding new sherry (Alcohol) and mechanical lifestyle with unsuitable food habits. The disease became chronic due to negligence and western life style adopting in diet and routine activity which is nonconductive regimen in our Indian climate. In this study 80 patients of Amlapitta were selected and divided into two groups. In group-A (Treated group) 50 patients were treated with Ayurveda formulation tablet Madhu Amalaki Rasayan (MAR) 250 mg two times a day before meal. In group-B (Control group) 30 patients were treated with modern medicine i.e. tablet famotidine-20 mg two times a day before meal. The treatment was continued for consecutive 30 days in both groups and patients were followed up for further two months by every fortnight. Lastly study concluded that tablet Madhu Amalaki Rasayan (MAR) is better as a remedial measure for Amlapitta having good palatability without any adverse effect.

The Mukhdooshika affects in young age, mainly on the face region, it is having pain, pustules and destroys luster of face, so it is called Mukhdooshika, in modern Science it is known as Acne vulgaris. The Acne vulgaris affects almost 90% of the population in their lifetime1 many cases of acne lead to permanent scarring. Due to the change in diet pattern, i.e., spicy food, junk food, increasing habit of eating bakery products, pollution, mental stress, excessive sweating, are the causes for acne or Mukhdushika. In this prospective single blind trial where patients were blind, design in patients having Mukhdooshika Male or female subjects between & including the ages of 14 to 25 years were selected & Labelled as Group A & B. The patients who were eligible to participate, by inclusion & exclusion criteria were provided with investigational product [Dashanga Lepa (with Red Sandalwood) to Group A & Dashanga Lepa (With Sandalwood) to Group B] to apply daily once at home for 2 weeks. At the end of study, it showed that Dashanga Lepa with Sandalwood is more effective than Dashanga Lepa with Red sandalwood in reducing surface area of Acne.
