Dr. Namdev Vishwanath Jadhav started his career as field Veterinarian/Manager on large poultry farm from May, 1979 and worked there up to 1990. During this tenure of 11 years,
he had very good exposure to manage chicken farming and practical experience. In 1991, he joined as Assistant Professor in Veterinary College, Parbhani, Udgir and Bidar to work in various capacities as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor & rendered 26 years of service as an academician. He managed poultry and livestock units at those colleges attached to Deptt. of LPM, maintained for demonstration & instruction purposes. He retired in June, 2016 from Veterinary College, Bidar, KVAFSU as Professor & Head, Deptt. of LPM at the age of 62 years after completing successfully total 37 years of service.
From January, 2019 he again joined as “Retired Professor” in LPM, in PGIVER, Jaipur, Rajasthan, and served there for 1.5 years. After this, from July, 2020, he again started working in private Veterinary College namely Apollo College of Veterinary Medicine, Agra Road, Jamdoli, Jaipur as Professor & Head, LFC. He has rendered around 4 years of service here and finally got retired recently on 30.09.2024 by passing benefit of his rich knowledge & experience to veterinary students.
During his journey as academician, he has penned 4-5 texts for veterinary students and the present one, “Practical Poultry Science” is the 6th of its kind. The efforts are to disseminate the knowledge & experience to the students & teachers also. Further, his titles are also useful for poultry & livestock farmers as they are practically oriented. He has published about 63 research papers, 14 abstracts in conference compendiums & 30 popular articles. He has been conferred 5-6 awards by various Associations, Organizations & institutes. On this occasion of publishing of Practical Poultry Science book, publishers congratulate him for his valuable service to the profession & give best wishes for penning such titles in future also.
Dr. Kavita Meena has completed her B.V. Sc, A.H. in year 2018 from College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner under Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS, Bikaner) with keen interest in feeding and management of animals. She availed Master’s in Animal Nutrition in the year 2021 from PGIVER, Jaipur with her M. V. Sc research work on poultry broilers.
She started her career as Assistant Professor in Animal Nutrition at Apollo College of Veterinary Medicine, Jamdoli Jaipur. Recently she joined as Veterinary Officer, Department
of Animal Husbandry state government of Rajasthan. She is dedicated and hardworking
towards her goals and holds NCC “C” certificate. She has participated in around 15 conferences, symposium, workshops, and trainings. She has published 5 research articles
in popular journals and 8 abstracts in conferences. She is co-author of Hand book of Poultry
Production and Management of which 3rd edition has been published in 2023.
