Mental Health Nursing represents one of the most dynamic and demanding fields within the healthcare sector. As global perceptions of mental health continue to develop, the demand for empathetic, proficient, and evidence-based psychiatric nurses has reached unprecedented levels. This textbook, Mental Health Nursing for B.Sc. Nursing Students, aims to connect theoretical concepts with the practical realities encountered in clinical psychiatric settings.

This book is meticulously crafted in alignment with the most recent syllabus requirements, offering a thorough and accessible guide to psychiatric care. The material is systematically organized to assist undergraduate students in comprehending the pathology of mental disorders as well as the holistic nursing management necessary for their treatment. Notable aspects of this book consist of:

• Comprehensive, thorough and extensive analysis of the classification of mental disorders, therapeutic communication, and psychosocial therapies.

• Exploration of the illness-wellness continuum to deepen understanding of early identification and recognition of emerging symptoms.

• Emphasis on competencies to guarantee safe and responsible nursing practice.

• The Indian Perspective on Mental Well-Being aimed at fostering critical thinking and decision-making skills, correlating Traditional Indian systems of medicine with contemporary practices.

All endeavours have been undertaken to deliver the content in a manner that is both accessible and engaging, thereby equipping students for their university assessments as well as their prospective clinical careers.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my colleagues, students, family, and the distinguished members of the “RED FLOWER PUBLICATIONS” for their unwavering support and encouragement, which have been instrumental in bringing this publication to fruition. Although I have endeavoured to ensure that this text is thorough and devoid of errors, I am open to constructive criticism and recommendations for enhancing future editions.
