Abstract

This inaugural issue of the Journal of Aeronautic Dentistry marks the beginning of a new era in interdisciplinary research, bridging the gap between dentistry and space exploration. As space agencies like NASA send astronauts on prolonged missions, the effects of microgravity, atmospheric pressure changes, and exposure to harmful agents on the human body, including the oral cavity, become increasingly relevant. This journal aims to explore the unique challenges and opportunities in aeronautic dentistry, from understanding the impact of space travel on oral health to developing innovative solutions for preventing and managing dental problems in space. We invite researchers, clinicians, and space enthusiasts to join us on this exciting journey, advancing the frontiers of knowledge in aeronautic dentistry.
