Abstract

Manjishthadi Kwatha is a famous decoction used in clinical practice since many years. It is used specially in the treatment of skin diseases but in classics various formulations are mentioned under the title of Manjishthadi Kwatha for the management of different diseases. The ingredients of these formulations are also different. In present study, various formulations entitled Manjishthadi Kwatha are compiled and evaluated. These formulations are divided into three major categories – Brihat Manjishthadi Kwatha, Madhyam Manjishthadi Kwatha and Laghu Manjishthadi Kwatha. Different views about the formulation like ingredients, Rogadhikara and indications etc are complied and evaluated in the present study.
