AbstractForeign body lodged in either larynx or bronchi lead to significant morbidity and mortality in children. It can lead to severe asphyxiating choking which if not recognised and intervened immediately can be fatal. The other non-asphyxiating mild type of choking requires proper history and radiological examination for diagnosis. Bronchoscopy is helpful in confirming the diagnosis as well as in extraction of the foreign body. Public awareness can be helpful in preventing this type of injury in children.
