Abstract

The style and content of political communication play a key role in the victory of populist leaders. The political communication of Trump illustrated the different aspects of populist communication. Understanding the economic, political, and social conditions of the US is necessary to understand the factors that shaped the political communication of Trump. Additionally, new changes in the media sector, like declining trust in traditional media and growing dependence on social media, also have facilitated the populist communication of Trump.
