Abstract

ABSTRACT
Palatal rugoscopy is a method to analyze and categorize palatal rugae patterns. These patterns can be analyzed on the basis of its size, shape and quantity in an individual. These patterns turn out to be extremely helpful in the cases when it is difficult to identify an individual with the help of fingerprints or dental records. The review article is based on the study of rugae pattern of male and female on the shapes and to do a comparative analysis of previous data. The present review article highlights the importance of accuracy in using digital software for recording the rugae pattern from photograph of dental casts also it showed that the shape of rugae remained consistent, showing the stability of the rug
