AbstractPseudomyxomatous peritonei is a clinical condition caused by cancerous cells (mucinous adenocarcinoma) that produce abundant mucin or gelatinous ascites. The tumors cause fibrosis of tissues and impede digestion or organ function, if left untreated, the tumors and mucin they produce will fill the abdominal cavity. The standard treatment for these patients is watchful monitoring and debulking followed by chemotherapy. I report a case of a 54 year old female and review the clinical features and treatment of this disease.
