Abstract

Mothers are important for the development of their children. To raise healthy children healthy mothers are of importance. Unfortunately in many developing countries still too many women die during pregnancy or child birth. Midwives are truly the unsung heroines of the challenge to reduce the risks of the women face in bringing for the life. 5th of May was established to be celebrated as a day to honour the midwives for their big contribution towards the health of their nation.
