AbstractClimate change will have significant impacts on fisheries and aquaculture. The consequences of climate change will be negative for fishers at low latitudes. In contrast, fish farmers may benefit from expansion of the areas where aquaculture is viable due to increased temperatures and rising sea levels. However, these benefits may be tempered by reduced water quality and availability, increased disease incidence and damage to freshwater aquaculture by salinization of ground water.
